Niwaas Long-Term Care

Founded and established Ontario’s first Punjabi and Sikh-focused long-term care home to provide culturally appropriate care for seniors in our community. This 160-bed facility will offer medical care and support in an environment that maintains cultural connections through familiar food, language, and traditions. Secured over $50 million in provincial funding to make this vision a reality, with additional fundraising efforts underway. Niwaas creates a space where our elders can receive 24/7 professional care in a setting that truly feels like home.

Creating a Home Away From Home

Leading the development of Niwaas as a non-profit long-term care facility that prioritizes resident care over profits. The 160-bed facility at 380 Fernforest Drive in Brampton will provide essential healthcare services while honoring cultural traditions. This pioneering project addresses the specific needs of our aging Punjabi-Sikh community members who deserve dignified care in a familiar environment. Our vision is to create a place where language barriers disappear and cultural practices are respected and celebrated.
This groundbreaking project will serve as a model for culturally responsive healthcare that honors our seniors while providing the professional medical care they need.
