Summer Door Knocking

  • As the warm summer months arrive, it's the perfect time to connect with residents and gather valuable feedback about their experiences and concerns within the community.
  • Summer door knocking provides an opportunity to meet residents in a casual and friendly manner. Face-to-face interactions foster trust and create a platform for open dialogue.
  • By engaging in direct conversations, community members can share their insights on various issues, including local infrastructure, public safety, neighborhood programs, and overall satisfaction with community services.
  • Door-to-door outreach encourages residents to take an active role in shaping their community. It serves as a reminder that their voices matter and that their feedback is being heard.

Langar Seva Event- April 24th 2025 at City of Brampton

  • Langar is the free community kitchen in Sikhism, where food is served to everyone, regardless of religion, caste, gender, or social status. It is a fundamental part of Sikh teachings on equality, selfless service (seva), and community. The tradition was started by Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism, and continues in gurdwaras (Sikh temples) worldwide. Langar meals are simple, vegetarian, and prepared and served by volunteers. The practice emphasizes humility, compassion, and breaking down social barriers by having everyone sit together and eat as equals.

Sikh Heritage Month Food Drive- April 13th 2025 at Bramalea and Sandalwood Chalo Freshco

  • Sikh Heritage Month is a month-long celebration held in April to recognize and honor the history, culture, and contributions of the Sikh community. It is officially observed in Canada and some other regions where Sikh communities have a significant presence.

Purpose of Sikh Heritage Month

  • Raise Awareness: Educate people about Sikh history, values, and contributions.
  • Celebrate Sikh Identity: Highlight Sikh traditions, music, art, and community service.
  • Combat Discrimination: Promote inclusivity and fight against racism and misconceptions about Sikhs.
  • Acknowledge Contributions: Recognize the Sikh community’s role in various fields such as politics, business, healthcare, and social justice.

Tree Planting- TBD
