Improving Healthcare Access
Addressing Brampton’s critical healthcare needs through strategic initiatives that expand services and infrastructure. Our office successfully declared a healthcare emergency in Brampton, which brought national attention to our city’s needs and led to increased funding. We’re focused on both immediate solutions like emergency services and long-term healthcare capacity building through education and senior care. These projects will create a stronger healthcare system while bringing medical innovation and jobs to our community.
- Successfully advocated for the Guru Nanak Emergency Department at 2100 Bovaird Dr to improve urgent care.
- Founded Niwaas Long-Term Care, securing over $50 million in provincial funding for a 160-bed facility.
- Worked with Toronto Metropolitan University to establish Brampton's first medical school, opening in 2025.
These healthcare improvements will provide better medical services for residents of all ages while creating new educational and employment opportunities in the medical field.
